Hotel Metropol’s exterior windows show magic installations dedicated to the most famous Russian fairy tales: Firebird (Zhar-Ptitsa), Morozko, Snow Maiden (Snegurotchka), Tzarevna Frog, Tale of Tsar Saltan and Swan Princess, Scarlet Flower. The art works are done by the most famous Russian designers: Andrey Bartenev, Pavel Kaplevich, Anastasia Romantsova (A la russe), Alena Akhmadullina, Alena Kochetkova and Pierre-Henri Matisse, grandson of Henri Matisse, thus paying tribute to the hotel’s heritage and the founder Savva Mamontov’s circle and Russian culture.
